Procedure
The aim is to tighten and elevate neck skin, remove excess submental fat collections and tighten the lax muscles.
Results
Become evident after 3 weeks but sometimes takes several months to mature.
Indications
Skin laxity, submental fullness, and heavy bands are the classic indications. Frequently, a combination of those co-exist.
Complications
Skin irregularity, persistent jawling, persistent neck bands.
Recovery
A bandage is applied for 3-5 days. You can shower your body the next day.
Anesthesia
Local with sedation or general anesthesia.

Based on your exam, you will be advised as to which procedure better corrects your problems. Often lesser surgery ends up with lesser result.
Swelling and bruising are inescapable but they can be well managed to improve your healing.
A night compression garment is recommended for one month in order to minimize edema fluid from collecting under the skin.
