Procedure
To restore the youthful appearance of the face and neck.
Results
Begin to show 2-3weeks postoperatively. Healing however continues for months afterwards.
Indications
Aging facial features that warrant surgical correction. Minimal problems are treated non-surgically at first.
Complications
Blood collection under the skin, poor healing especially in smokers, and recurrent laxity may occur in those with very poor skin tone.
Recovery
A head bandage is applied for 3-5 days postoperatively. You can shower the next day from the neck down. You can wash your hair 3 days later. You can dye your hair 3 weeks later. It is important to avoid the use of hot blow dryers until protective sensation returns in the skin and ears.

General or local with sedation.

All surgery can produce some pain. But analgesic medications are prescribed to adequately control pain. Antibiotics are also prescribed.
Bruising is not uncommon in the neck, while less common in the face. It is crucial that you stop any medication that thins the blood at least two weeks prior to surgery.
Varies from patient to patient. Some have gone out as early as 3 days, but most wait till after 3 weeks.
The incisions are hidden from direct sun exposure. Applying sun blocks SPF more than 50 whenever outdoors is recommended for 6 months.
